Day 3 for the 12 days of Christmas AWDML!

Here's a Tutorial on how to make a Paper Pinecone Ornament. I just want to note this is NOT something I have made up I've seen several tutorials on this I'm just simply passing on the way to make these adorable pinecones.
Just a Reminder all American Crafts products are on sale this month!
Day 3 Sale at AWDML
Supplies:
Paper Cutter, Cardstock, Ribbon, Buttons, 3 in. Styrofoam Ball, pins.
Cut a 12x12 piece of cardstock in 2 inch stipss

Then cut all of the 2 in strips at 1 inch. So you have have a handfull of 1in x 2in pieces.

Fold the corners down..

So it looks like this make sure the side you want showing has the folds on the opposite.

Fold them all..

On the ball pin all 3 sides..this will be the bottom of your pinecone.

Add 3 more pieces so it looks like this,

On the opposite corners add another of the folded triangles like here.

Repeat...

As you go up higher you can start to see the pattern and the pinecone taking shape.

Once you get about half way pin your ribbon to each side like shown here.

And continue up the ball..

Until there's no more styrofoam showing.

Add a bow and if you choose put a button in the center!

Hope you enjoyed this Tutorial!

Ohh, this is too dog-gone cool!! I hadn't seen these yet, and we are creating homemade ornaments this year for our church's tree. I wonder if they could use a few more. I would love to make some of these. :) Hugs, Kel
