Creating a 3D effect on your cards!

Hello there crafty peeps!

Today I have a little tutorial to share with you for my Richard Garay 'Make Amazing Girl' DT project! I made this 'Fun' little card to share with you. Aren't those balloons adorable! Well I'm going to show you how I made those by combining a couple of products, you might not otherwise combine. I always try to think outside the box a little and come up with something a little unique or at least use the products in a little bit of a different way.

Here we go.. Let's make some 3D looking
bubbly balloons!

So I used the little Celebra'tions Tag That (thought bubble die) for my balloons.
Now, you see the coffee stamp set, 'Cup for two' off to the right.. I stamped the cup first, 2 times in the Captivating Coral Ink and then cut out the die.

I then trimmed the points off of the bottom of the thought bubbles. Now they look like balloons!!!

Next, I used my Fun Stampers Journey Bloom Tool and got out the stylus piece and went over the entire backside of the 'Balloon' in a circular motion. You will start to see the balloon curl on the edges.

You can see the difference in the one I haven't done yet...

Doesn't that look darling! You have some bubbly little balloons for your card!

Oh and take a look at those green splatters! I used the Lucous Green Liqid Silk. I just LOVE this stuff. It's like a  bottle of nail polish so when you tap on the lid you really get a great splatter effect!!

Well I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial. Until next time my freinds!

Make Live Share -- Candle Holders!

Have you seen this week's Make Live Share by Richard Garay.
This week Richard is using the super cute and ever so versatile Cupcake liner die from Yummy and Delicious! These dies will available in the new Fun Stampers Journey Catalog which will be out in just a few weeks!

Make Live Share is a great little challenge that Richard has going on each week. You can read about how you can play along here. If you would like to watch the video you can do so here.

I have made a little center piece decoration using my cupcake liner and some candles. I used the Journey Twine creating a twine flower and putting a button in the center. I love the way this looks!

I also used a misc. paper doily in the inside of the liner creating a lace effect behind the scallop die.

I hope you will participate in this week's Make Live Share.
You can be the lucky winner of a FREE WORKSHOP for you and 15 of your crafty friends by the one and only Richard Garay himself!

Teacher Gift Idea - Celebra'tions!

The end of the school year is quickly approaching and there's nothing better than a little coffee gift set to give to your child's teacher!

I've made this adorable little gift set using Richard Garay's Celebra'tion by Spellbinders.
I have used 2 stamp sets for these projects. They really compliment each other well. The coffee set is called, 'Cup for two'. The other set is a combo die and stamp set. I just LOVE how convenient that is. The stamp set is called, 'Sweet Treats'.

Notice the depth of the heart on the card? Well, I took the Celebra'tion's Pierced Hearts Die set and cut the heart from the cup. Then I took the same heart die and cut out a heart in the cup with the words on it. I used foam dots to pop up the piece of card stock with the blue cup on it. and then I put the heart with words on it in the center of the cup but gluing it down to the blue piece of card stock.

Anyone who loves coffee would love this little gift set.
Thank's for visiting today.
I hope you have a wonderful week!

Simple Cheery Celebra'tions Birthday Card.

Hi everyone!

I have a new card to share. For the Make Amazing Design Team! Here's a fun, bright Birthday card using Richard Garay's Celebra'tions Collection from Spellbinders.

I just love the all the white showing on this card. the Pierced Rectangle Dies give cards so much detail I can use them on every card! The other die I used is from the Embellish It Die Set.

That delicious paper is is from Celebra'tions Pints Collection. There's so many fun patterns in this collection. Perfect for summer with those bright cheery colors.

I really love height and texture on my cards. Since I don't have a lot of layers of card stock I decided to use some different ribbons and linen thread for my final touches, of course I had to add a button which is from Fun Stampers Journey

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

Celebra'tions - Sunny Days Card and Ribbon Pleating Tutorial!

I’m so excited to be sharing with you my first project as Richard Garay's Make Amazing Girl! This has been such a wonderful experience so far and it’s just the beginning.

Today I’m sharing a super fun Summery card using Richard Garay’s Celebra’tions Collection. Soon as I saw this polka dot orange paper in the Celebrations Prints Package I had to use it! I have used the Stamp and Die Set SunnyDays. After all, what goes better with orange polka dot paper better than a sun shine, right?

I’ve also used the Pierced Circles Dies for the white and orange circles. My favorite part about these dies is that you can choose whether or not you want to add the piercings. Notice the texture on the white circle behind my sentiment. I have used the ‘Create a Cone’ die set to emboss my circle with a waffle cone texture.

I use A LOT of foam dots! I love texture and dimension on my cards so every layer is on a foam dot!
Even the cloud that sits on the sun is on a foam dot. I have used some Journey Sparkle Dust on the inner part of my orange circle. A few other embellishments are Journey Twine, Buttons, Sequins and TangerineFusion Gingham Ribbon.

Which brings me to one of my favorite techniques.
Ribbon pleating. Here’s a super easy way to pleat ribbon.

First, you will need Ribbon, Scissors and JourneyWhite Liner tape.

Then you will place a strip of the White Liner Tape across the ribbon.

Next, make little loops pinching the ribbon. You don’t want to the ribbon too tight unless you want tight looking pleats. Then trim off ribbon stands..and attach to your project!

Well I hope you enjoyed my project and mini tutorial.
 Have a wonderful day!
