Bloom Girls 1st Challenge!

Hello there my crafty peeps!!!

Today is our first challenge over on the Bloom Girls DT Blog!
I'm so excited and honored to be on this team. Jamie Dougherty is an extremely talented artist.
She's so sweet, too! I'm so very happy about this new direction and journey
as a Bloom Girl and the Bloom Girls DT Coordinator! ♥.

Jamie has put together a gorgeous color palate for this challenge.
To enter you don't even need to use anything specific.. just create anything and let us know how the colors or image inspired you!

Here's my mixed media canvas using the 'Bloom Girl Summer'. I've used my Copics to color and Gelatos, molding paste and shimmerz to create my background.
I ADORE this canvas!!!

Check out what the other Bloom Girls have done and play along... you could even win a prize package. You have until the end of the month to play!

A pretty altered notebook!

 Hi there my crafty peeps!
I have a notebook I made using most of the products in this Frosted Designs Kit
I just adore this kit. The colors are gorgeous. I just love the new Tim Holtz stencil. I used some 3d molding paste on my journal with the stencil. I have distressed the edges of paper with my scissors and then I distressed them with the Tim Holtz Crackle Paint.

The stamp I'm using is this Gorgeous Bloom Girl Stamp. I used the no line coloring technique.
I just love those purple highlights in her hair! :)

I used some of the rub ons from the kit as well. Here's the sentiments along the bottom of the notebook.

I also added some faux stitching along the top corner. I took the Maya Road Scalloped Frame and painted it with white acrylic paint. Then I added the rub on in the center.

Frosted Designs Challenge - Stitching and Flowers

Hello out there in the crafting world.
I have a layout to share with you. I've use my Frosted Designs Enchanted Kit! So many goodies in there! :) This is my youngest daughter Katie's 1st grade school photo. She will be in second grade this year.. wow! Still can't believe it. Isn't she super cute!

I used the Kaiser Kraft Butterfly stamps and embossed some of them onto the gorgeous Bo Bunny Paper. I then, tore a few pieces of the paper and layered them onto each other. The cheese cloth in the back ground gives it a sewn on effect. I really LOVE the way this came out. Of course I added lots and lots of flowers too!

I hope you will be able to join us for our Flowers and Stitching challenge at Frosted Designs!

Mixed Media Christmas Card with Lili of the Valley.

Here's a mixed media card I made. At first I was not sure about how this was going to turn out. So I kept adding... and adding.. then I even "slept on it"  cause I couldn't get it to look right. When I woke up.. started on it again. Now, I LOVE this card so much. The background reminds me of the way an old piece of wood looks in the snow. Which reminds me of the times I spent in Bishop with my Great, Grandparents when I was a kid.

The Image I used is Lili of the Valley's, 'Christmas Prayer Stamp'. Never too early for Christmas cards. Oh, and wait till you see LOTV's new release... SWEEEET!

I used so much on this card.. lets see if I can remember it all...acrylic white and brown paint, white sparkly fluff, white flower soft, fancy pants cork stars, WOC flowers, glossy accents.

Mixed Media Art.. and some drawings. :)

Hello there craft friends!
Today I have some art to share with you. I've been doing a little drawing and have recently discovered Art Journaling. I signed up about a month for an Online Workshop by Jamie Dougherty.
If you aren't familiar with her she is the artist behind Prima's Bloom Girl Collection. I just love Jamie's style. Her paintings are to die for.. GORGEOUS!
She's been a HUGE inspiration to me over the last couple months.. after all the times I've drooled all over her gallery's, Facebook and website I finally took a crack at a few things of my own.

Here's a small 5x7 piece of wood that I sketched on. I got the wood from Redeemwood. It has a smooth surface and you are able to blend beautifully with pencils. Next time I take a crack at this I think I'll try painting. :) I used some stickers and put one of my favorite sayings. Probably, the most important phrase ever.. and I've been telling this to myself a lot lately. My dad always tells me,

"Don't Stress over ANYTHING you can't control!"

When I look at this drawing I did I see the stress lifting off of her.

Next, I'd like to share the first page in my Art Journal. This is designed by Jamie Dougherty. If you sign up for her Blooming Through the Seasons Workshop you get access to her videos and PDFs for 12 months! You learn all sorts of techniques from drawing to mixed media!
I'm enjoying this class so much!

Just look how gorgeous her illustrations are! I LOVE them!

Well, here's my first Page.. I'm sure I will get lots better! LOL!
All that matters is I had FUN! :)
